Our design process
We follow a step-by-step approach to our staircase renovation projects, so you can rest assured we’ve covered every detail.
Call to tell us what you’re looking for including any ideas, styles and rough measurements and we’ll provide a basic quote within 48 hours. Upon payment of a 10% deposit, we’ll confirm the installation date. We’re happy to offer advice or inspiration if you’re not sure what you want at this stage.
A site visit will be arranged at a time to suit you. During the visit we can create a mood board of styles and materials. This is a great opportunity to look at wood samples in detail so you can see what works best in your home. Based on this discussion, we’ll finalise the plans and create a technical drawing of your staircase.
All elements will be handmade in our Sussex-based workshop. Once complete, we aim to install in the quickest time possible.
Once complete, we’ll check in with you after the build to ensure you’re happy with your staircase. We can also advise on how to keep the timber looking good for years to come.

We take the design and inspiration from your home to produce a staircase that looks and feels like it belongs in the space. However, if you’re looking for a real show-stopper, we can combine materials and features to create something that will get visitors talking. From materials to shapes, all elements are fully bespoke so your vision can be realised.
How long does a typical staircase renovation project take?
This can depend on the size and shape of your staircase; however, we aim to complete most projects within six weeks of the 10% deposit being paid. With all commissions, we are completely transparent when it comes to timelines and dates so you can rest assured that we’ll meet the deadlines set.
Can existing staircases be renovated, or do they need to be completely replaced?
Our joinery and carpentry skills focus on renovating rather than creating staircases from scratch. However, we can completely change the look of what is there, from the treads and balustrades to rails and panels.
